Assessment Modules

  • AQ - Aquatic Connectivity - Non-tidal
  • TS - Aquatic Connectivity - Tidal
  • TP - Terrestrial Connectivity
  • CA - Culvert Condition

The below is the terminology used on the naacc.org website for the trainings (BE 01/25/22)

Trainings Completed (BOLD for completed)
NP = Non-tidal Aquatic Protocol Training (underline if greater than 2 years since training completed)
NF = Non-tidal Aquatic Field Training
NS = Non-tidal Aquatic Connectivity Shadowing
TP = Terrestrial Connectivity Protocol
TF = Terrestrial Connectivity Field Training
TiP = Tidal Aquatic Connectivity Protocol
TiF = Tidal Aquatic Connectivity Field Training
CP = Culvert Condition Protocol
CF = Culvert Condition Field Training
CT = Coordinator Protocol Training

General

  • Lead Observers (LOs) have to be trained and certified to contribute records to the NAACC database.
  • Local Coordinators (L1s) are module-specific. A lead observer can have different coordinators for different modules. For example he/she could have coordinator A for the non-tidal module and coordinator B for the terrestrial module.
  • Because the coordinator training/quiz is not specific to any module, a lead observer that is elevated to L1 coordinator status can then have coordinator status for all modules for which he/she is certified. If that person is not actively coordinating surveys for one of the modules for which he/she is certified, he/she will simply have no children for that module.
  • Regional Coordinators (L2s) are not module-specific. L2 coordinators can be the parent of L1 coordinator for any module, even if not certified for that module). The L2 coordinator that oversees an L1 coordinator is responsible for oversight for all modules that involve the L1.
  • Regional Coordinators (L2s) Can change the L1 coordinators for LOs they supervise.
